Here’s how the mentorship programme works:
1. Initial Consultation: We start with a free 15-minute consultation (via Zoom or in person if you’re within 20 minutes of BS24 9QF) to discuss your current level, goals, and areas you’d like to focus on. This helps me tailor the sessions to your specific needs.
2. Session Scheduling: Based on the consultation, we schedule your sessions. Each session typically lasts 60 minutes and can be booked as one-off or in packages (e.g., 2, 3, or 5 sessions). For in-person sessions, these will be arranged based on location and availability.
3. Content of the Sessions:
- Scripting: We’ll work on creating or refining scripts for your routines, ensuring that each performance flows smoothly and engages the audience.
- Finding Your Voice: I’ll guide you through the process of discovering and developing your unique performance persona.
- Honing Your Act: We’ll review your current act and identify areas for improvement, from trick selection to pacing.
- Modulating Your Act: You’ll learn how to adjust your act for different venues, audiences, and settings.
- Audio Integration: I’ll help you understand how to incorporate sound effects or music to enhance your show.
- Choosing Magic: Together, we’ll identify tricks that match your style and personality, making your act more authentic.
- Crowd Work: I’ll teach you techniques to interact confidently with your audience, handling everything from hecklers to applause cues.
4. Between Sessions: You’ll have access to email support, where you can ask quick questions or seek feedback between our scheduled meetings.
5. Evaluation and Progress: At the end of each session or package, we’ll review your progress and set clear next steps for ongoing improvement.
6. Follow-up: After your package or sessions are complete, you can opt to book follow-up sessions as needed to refine your skills further or work on new material.
